SANTA BRAVES AND BOYS CLUB DEPARTMENTS
PARTICIPATE IN ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE
Several Boys Club Departments including the Administration Department, Family Support Services, the Graphics Department and the Construction and Facilities crew teamed up to build a float for the 2011 Annual Christmas Parade.  The theme of this year’s parade was the Giving Spirit and the Club’s float was titled “Sporting the Giving Spirit”.

The Santa Braves were a key part of the parade as they helped with the float and also drove grocery carts through the crowd taking up food, toy and cash donations to assist the Christmas Store and Food Pantry sponsored by the Family Support Services’ office.

Thanks to the following people who helped make the parade project a success:  Meshay Long, Silas Reed-Littlejohn, Brent Gunter, Sabrina Wooten, Derrick Ledford, Avery Mintz, Kendall Toineeta, Shadow Long, Rhiannon Hull, Cemonia Sutton, Gabe McMillan, Ray Smith, Chenning Lossiah, Forrest Stamper, Steven Diggs, Leslie Lossiah, Colby Lossie, Debora Foerst, Brennen Foerst, Aria Foerst, Ray Kinsland, Craig and Melissa Barker and girls, Food Lion, Stephen Little, Chad Carver, Charles Arch, Jacob Chastain, Tuff Jackson Charlotte Littlejohn, Jesse Sneed, Jasper Wolfe, Dodie Crowe, Richie Wolfe, Trista Welch, Barbara Jones and Tiffani Reed.  If we missed anyone, we apologize; just know that your time, your materials, your thoughtfulness and your contributions were greatly appreciated.

The Santa Braves will continue to collect toys and food and will sell Christmas “stockings” to benefit these projects.  See any Braves winter sport athlete to purchase your stockings or to obtain additional information.  Donations will be accepted until Tuesday, Dece. 20.  Donations can be left at the Cherokee Boys Club’s lobby, the Qualla Library, Mountain Credit Union and the school offices.  If you have any questions, call Barbara Jones at 497-6092; Trista Welch at 497-5539; or Tiff Reed at 497-5027.
Remember the 1st Annual Santa Braves Christmas Bazaar to be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9 at the Ceremonial Grounds.  Proceeds from this sale will also benefit the Christmas Store and Food Pantry.
