Following are the winners of the 20th Annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest held at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Ariz. on Feb. 13-14:

Senior Division (40 years and older)

• First Place: Moontee Sinquah, Hopi/Tewa/Choctaw, Polacca, Ariz., 230 points

• Second Place: Terry Goedel, Yakama/Tulalip, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., 214 points

• Third Place: No third competitor

Adult Division (18-39 years)

• World Champion: Derrick Suwaima Davis, Hopi/Choctaw, Old Oraibi, Ariz., 240 points

• Second Place: Charles Denny, Cree/Ute, Fort Duchesne, Utah, 236 points

• Third Place: Tony Duncan, San Carlos Apache, of Mesa, Ariz., 235 points

• Fourth Place: Brian Hammill, Ho Chunk, of New River, Ariz., 228 points

• Fifth Place: Quentin Pipestem, Tsuu-Tina, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 223 points

• Sixth Place: Lane Jensen, Navajo/Maricopa, of Dilcon, Ariz., 222 points

Teen Division (13-17 years) Sponsored by the Jeff Kahn Family

• First Place: Christian R. J. Hazell, Metis Nation, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 228 points

• Second Place: Peanutt Roberts, Choctaw/Nakota, of Atwood, Okla., 217 points

• Third Place: Sampson Sixkiller Sinquah, Hopi-Tewa/Choctawa/Pima/Cherokee, of Polacca, Ariz., 214 points

Youth Division (6-12 years)

• First Place: Tyrese Jensen, Navajo/Maricopa, of Dilcon, Ariz., 239 points

• Second Place: Beedoskah Stonefish, Odawa/Chippewa/Delaware/Pottawotami, of Peshawbestown, Mich., 224 points

• Third Place: Talon Duncan, San Carlos Apache, of Mesa, Ariz., 218 points

Note:  EBCI tribal members Eddie Swimmer and Daniel Tramper are both past World Champions of this event.  Swimmer won the first event held in 1990.
