Tribal Member signs with UAH Softball Team
Megan Walker, an EBCI tribal member, has signed to play softball at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) as a catcher this fall.
WRESTLING: Braves split at Hayesville Meet
The Cherokee Braves varsity wrestling team split in a meet held at Hayesville High School on Tuesday, Feb. 1. The Braves defeated Hiwassee Dam 48-12 but lost to Hayesville 45-30.
WRESTLING: Black Knights pummel Braves
Seven forfeits destroyed all chances the Braves had against the Robbinsville Black Knights at home on Friday, Jan. 28. Robbinsville won 51-18 as Cherokee gave away 42 points on forfeited matches.

In a common theme for Cherokee’s wrestling team this season, forfeits cost the Middle School Braves against Robbinsville Middle School on Friday, Jan. 28.
Braves QB signs with Carson-Newman
The Carson-Newman Eagles will have a Brave on their roster next season. Jesse Blanton, who played quarterback and defensive back for Cherokee this past season, signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, Feb. 2 to play football at the school.

The Cherokee Braves are 8-6 overall and 5-4 in the Smoky Mountain Conference as of Jan. 28.
Lady Braves 8-1 in Conference Play
The Cherokee Lady Braves are currently 8-1 in the Smoky Mountain Conference and 14-3 overall.
