Beloved Man Chief Youngdeer passes away
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has lost a great leader, man, and servant. Beloved Man Robert S. Youngdeer, a former Principal Chief, passed away on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 20.
Tribal Court Docket for Oct. 25
This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Andrews beats Braves in Sectional "Seeding" game
The Andrews Wildcats boys team defeated Cherokee 64-51 in a game played at Swain High School on Thursday, Feb. 18 that would help determine seeding for the upcoming Sectional playoffs.
Murphy tops Lady Braves in Semis
After crushing Andrews the night before, the Cherokee Lady Braves couldn’t find their shooting range on Thursday, Feb. 18 as they lost by 10 to the Murphy Lady Bulldogs in the semifinals of the girls Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament.
Swain Boys top Cherokee in SMC Tourney Opener
While the Lady Braves celebrated their first round victory, it was a different outcome for the Cherokee Braves boys teams in the opening round of the Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 17 as they lost to rival Swain 70-62.
