It is decision time on the Boundary. In just six months, we will select the leadership that will carry us into the future.

On April 14, it will have been four years since my son, Brad Allison, was killed in the line of duty in service to his community while employed by the Cherokee Department of Transportation. 

Our Tribe went through a very trying time a couple years ago, but I do believe, in my heart, that someday we will come back together and support each other and lift each other up.

Because we live here and are around it all the time, we take the natural beauty and untouched wilderness for granted.

Moses, as deliverer of the Israelites, while bringing an estimated three million of them out of Egypt, became angry with them at Mt. Horeb. 

The last official census of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians was conducted in 2001.  The next one was supposed to have been conducted ten years later in 2011, but it wasn’t which puts the Tribe eight years out of compliance with Section 19 of the Charter and Governing Document. 

Do we create the panic and danger of which we are afraid?

Some in our community imply that highly visible economic development projects are being given the total focus of the Tribal Council and administration at the expense of municipal projects. This is just not true.
