Read Isaiah 45:1-25  (God’s Declaration of His Anointing of Cyrus, Concerning Israel)

Just a few years ago, a constitution for our Tribe was a hot topic. Most of the discussion revolved around the idea that a constitution was desperately needed, and the only real debate was what it was going to look like. 

We must each learn how to best deal with the volatile emotion of anger which can arise in just our daily living together on this Earth. 

There was a recent discussion by Tribal Council that took place regarding the efforts to approve tribal dollars of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians for use in the purchase of a commercial casino in Indiana. It was a heated discussion.

How would you folks at home feel if we had a tribal election and the obvious loser of that election went off on Twitter, and everywhere else, claiming that he won and whining that the election was stolen even though that particular election, due to previous attempts by outside actors and agitators, was the most secure in tribal history?

If you asked me a few weeks ago whether I’d take the vaccine, I would probably say ‘yes, but not right now’.

Read 1 Samuel 17:1-58 for the whole story of the battle David fought with Goliath.  Memorize David’s fighting words, a 17-year-old, to his ‘giant’ in verses 45-48a (and it came to pass.)

With the most contentious Presidential election in modern American history coming to a close, there is enough finger-pointing going on to satisfy even the most cynical.
