LETTER: Neadeau bows out of Big Cove race
First and foremost, I would like to thank every tribal member that has taken time to speak to me, support me, and trust me as the Chief of Police, Tribal Council candidate, and as a proud EBCI tribal member.
COMMENTARY: Life was better when I could have it my way.
I am a little more than frustrated at how many corporations and business owners absolutely ignore many of the fundamentals of customer service in their businesses.
SPEAKING OF FAITH: We are to be trees of righteousness
Glory to God, He has called us to be Trees of Righteousness, meaning, “We’ve already been pruned and trained,” and that it all now begins to happen in the right way and timing.
COMMENTARY: So, we will not decide.
The Tribal Council has spoken. Even if the Chief were to veto proposed Resolution 627, which was initiated by the Office of the Attorney General to rescind Resolution 559 (2023), the margin of the weighted vote needed to override is there.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Tribal member opposes proposed constitution
I support tribal sovereignty, which is why I urge our elected officials to remove the constitution as proposed from September’s ballot. If the Constitution as presented does appear on the ballot in September, I will be voting no because it is simply not ready. Here are three reasons why.
COMMENTARY: Addressing allegations against medical cannabis project
I am writing to you as the Chairwoman of the Qualla Enterprises, LLC Board of Managers. We are united in this response. Four of us are enrolled EBCI (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) members and all of us are members of the Western North Carolina community.
COMMENTARY: How do you fix a constitution?
I have reviewed the proposed constitution thoroughly and I am unclear as to exactly how changing this constitution will work. I will lay out what I understand to be the process and pose several questions.
