COMMENTARY: The proposed Constitution does harm to the Tribe.
The bottom line is that the proposed Constitution does harm to the Tribe (unintentionally, no doubt) by extinguishing some existing rights of tribal members and some existing governmental functions and legal standards for all three branches of tribal government.
COMMENTARY: Who has the skills?
The current standard for hiring in our Tribe when programs are looking to hire is that minimally qualified tribal members are considered before any other qualified candidate for a position.
