There is a real irony for Christians and veterans that Vietnam Veterans’ Day falls on Good Friday, March 29. This is a day sacred to Christians. It is also a day set aside by bureaucrats to memorialize the 58,267 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam and those of us that survived. We were victimized by false promises and poor leadership.

“I said you’d be changed in My Presence,” saith the Lord, “If you have not experienced change in your life, if your old ways are still prevailing, if your old man is still in evidence, you have not spent time with Me that I desire.

I came by today to say the Righteousness is Jesus. He’s our Righteousness and as He said, it is just for the sake of that Name. Known as the Name about every name, verse 4 brings us to another whole place, because it seems the psalmist David wrote this psalm to declare a couple of things here today.

We all love our stories. From gossip around the kitchen table to multi-million-dollar production, storytelling is a global cultural phenomenon. It is the way we have passed on history, genealogy, medicine, explained science, and even prayed.

Jesus faced death because He knew what death was all about. He knew exactly how he was going to die and what he would suffer. And like HIM, some of us no longer fear death as much as we fear just how we might die or how we might suffer.
