Wolfe to run for Miss Indian World
And, Miss Indian World for 2011 is…
Amanda Wolfe, an EBCI tribal member, is hoping her name will finish that sentence. She is registered as a contestant in the contest occurring April 28-30 in conjunction with the Gathering of Nations pow wow in Albuquerque, NM.
Oconaluftee Visitor Center officially opens
Cherokee elder Jerry Wolfe smudged the site last June at a groundbreaking ceremony. Now, the most visited national park in the country has a new visitor center at one end. The Oconaluftee Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located just a mile from Cherokee, was officially opened during a ceremony held Friday, April 15.
Council not accepting anymore Donation Applications
At this time, Tribal Council is not accepting anymore requests for donations. Their donations line item has been depleted for this fiscal year. The TOP office will begin taking new requests again in October. - TOP Office
