CPF Grantees highlighted at Celebration
The Cherokee Preservation Foundation (CPF) has invested over $50 million in the local community since its inception in 2002. The organization gave a total of $5,401,161 to 69 various grantees in 2010 alone. Some of those grantees and their programs were highlighted during a Community Celebration held at the Cherokee Youth Center on Friday, May 13.

Kanott joins Cooperative Extension Team
Sky Kanott is excited to join the team at EBCI Cooperative Extension as the new Youth Council – 4-H program intern. She will advise and help mentor the 42 members of the Cherokee Youth Council, an organization for kids ages 12-18 as well as work with the 4-H program in Cherokee.
Grad Student will study and teach Cherokee Language, thanks to new Fellowship
Brooke Bauer, a Ph.D. student in history in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences, will spend part of her summer enrolled in an intensive Cherokee language course offered by the Museum of the Cherokee Indian.
