The team at EBCI Destination Marketing is planning another fun-filled Cherokee Indian Fair the week of Oct. 7-11, according to Howard Wahnetah at the Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds. Several pieces of the five-day event have already been put into place and activity scheduling seems to be finishing up.

The Snowbird Youth Center was opened by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in 2002 – four years after the Tribe opened the Cherokee Youth Center Boys & Girls Club. For the first 12 years of its existence, the Snowbird Youth Center was housed in other programs, but now, it has a new home all its own.

The EBCI Budget and Finance Department presented the FY13 audited financial statements to Tribal Council on Tuesday, July 8. Each year, the Tribe has an independent audit to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements are fairly presented in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
