Second busiest year ever recorded at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2022
Great Smoky Mountains National Park experienced its second busiest year ever in 2022 with 12,937,633 visits. Last year’s visitation was more than 1.5 million above the park’s ten-year average, and more than the visitation of Yellowstone, Yosemite and Grand Canyon national parks combined.
National Park passes will now be required, how to get yours.
Starting on Wednesday, March 1, visitors to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (GSMNP) will be required to display a parking pass when on Park property.

David Green Edwards, 32, of Cherokee, N.C. was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release for two counts of sexual contact with a minor occurring in 2014 in Indian Country, announced Dena J.
