In the month of April, while maintaining our focus on Tribal Programs and community events, I also took on a new and different focus; a focus on our local economy and small businesses.

Note: This is a schedule for Tribal Court, and defendants are scheduled to appear on the dates listed. It should be noted that the following defendants have only been charged with the crimes listed and should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

May Tribal Council Calendar

A new bill introduced in the House of Representatives would make it illegal for federal agencies to take into account the marijuana policy of a federally-recognized tribe when disbursing federal monies.

Dr. Mickey Duvall, Secretary of Commerce for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation, gathered the Commerce Department staff for a quarterly meeting in April.
