Tribal Marijuana Sovereignty Act introduced in House
A new bill introduced in the House of Representatives would make it illegal for federal agencies to take into account the marijuana policy of a federally-recognized tribe when disbursing federal monies.
Commerce Secretary holds quarterly staff meeting
Dr. Mickey Duvall, Secretary of Commerce for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Nation, gathered the Commerce Department staff for a quarterly meeting in April.
Cherokee Civil Action Team continuing on with message
Earlier this month, the Cherokee Civil Action Team (CCAT) held an anti-drug rally and demonstration called “Drug Free Tsalagi, Taking Back our Communities”.
Wonderland Hotel Annex burns to the ground in Park
An 8,600 square foot structure associated with the former Wonderland Hotel in the Elkmont area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park burned to the ground on Tuesday, April 19.
