Seneca Nation repatriates Booger Masks to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
The Seneca Nation of Indians has a longstanding relationship with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) dating back to ancient times. It was strengthened on Sunday, Aug. 4 – the first anniversary of the opening of the Onöhsagwende’ Cultural Center, which houses both the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum and the Seneca Nation’s Archives Department, through a special nation-to-nation repatriation of Cherokee Booger masks.

TERO recipient of Governor’s NCWorks Award of Distinction
The TERO program of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is the recipient of the 2019 Governor’s NCWorks Award of Distinction as an “Outstanding Employee”. During the regular session of Tribal Council on Thursday, Aug. 1, officials from the Oconaluftee Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCCC), the nominating agency, recognized the TERO program.
