The organization also recognizes outstanding American Indian enterprises at this annual conference. Indigenous Boutique & Spa owners were honored as Native Woman Business Owners of the Year. 

A long-time employee of the Cherokee Senior Citizens Program has been honored by having a building named after her. 

The following students, all members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, received a Tribal Council Award for academic excellence during a ceremony at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Convention Center on the morning of Monday, May 1. 

January 2020 was a much different time. While the next few months would completely shift the landscape of everything in life, Sara Duncan’s focus on a new program at Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) did not falter.

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort has announced a new addition to the resort’s retail collection, Cherokee Outdoors, an outdoor-focused specialty shop. The new retail store opened its doors on April 1 and offers hotel guests and visitors a variety of outdoor-focused apparel and gear from distinguished and sustainable brands.

Robert C. Parker, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, has been given the highest honor from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Gov. Andy Beshears recently commissioned Parker as a Kentucky Colonel.
