EBCI Cooperative Extension gives Annual Garden Contest awards
The 2023 EBCI Cooperative Extension Office’s Annual Garden Contest awards were given on the evening of Monday, Sept. 18 at the Yellowhill Activity Center. The contest judging occurred in the second week of July.

Fishing fun: 22nd Talking Trees Children’s Trout Derby hosted by Tribe
With the early morning sun sparkling off of the Oconaluftee River like a million diamonds, over 2,000 people gathered to share in family fun, create memories, and fish. The 22nd Annual Talking Trees Children’s Trout Derby was hosted by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) on Saturday, Aug. 5 on the Oconaluftee River.
