Davina Lucy George, 38, of Cherokee, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 while at the Mission Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.
Davina was the daughter of the late Alfred George and Carolyn Phyllis (Owle) George of Cherokee and was a niece of Korean War Hero Charles George.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Maria George of Cherokee; sons, Elis George of Cherokee; Elicio George of Sylva; brothers, Kevin George and Darrell George; sister, Karen George all of Cherokee; aunts, Frances Librado and Melinda Owle; great aunt, Frances Toineeta and uncle, Phillip Owle Jr.
A visitation will be held for Davina on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 5-8pm in the Chapel of Long House Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 1pm in the Chapel of Long House with Rev. Richie Sneed officiating. An immediate burial will follow with pall bearers being Elis George, Elicio George, Kevin George, Will Arch, Levon George, Dave Long and Darrell George.
