Juanita Walkingstick Hornbuckle, 48, of the Birdtown Community, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of Annie Walkingstick Arch of Cherokee and the late Russell Walkingstick and Johnson Arch. She was the wife of the late Samuel Ray Hornbuckle. She was a member of Goose Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother Allen Walkingstick.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children, Danielle Hornbuckle, of Cherokee and Kurt Stewart of Cherokee; two grandchildren, Addison Stewart, and Kylond Stewart both of Cherokee; sisters, Martha Sampson of Whittier, Margaret Walkingstick of Cherokee, and Melinda Flores and husband Augistin of Whittier; two brothers, Wilson Walkingstick and wife Jonnie of Whittier, and Mike Walkingstick and wife Joann of Cherokee; aunts Lizzie Hull and Mabelle McDonald of Whittier; a cousin, Timmy Hull of Whittier; many nieces and nephews; her best friend Bear Taylor of Birdtown; two special friends Penny Johnson and Becky Saunooke; a dog Fred, and a cat Buddee.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, Dec. 14 at Goose Creek Baptist Church. Preachers Red Bradley and James (Bo) Parris will officiate with burial in the Locust Family Cemetery.
She will be taken to the Church at 4pm on Saturday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of Service.
Pallbearers will be Austin Sampson, Woody Walkingstick, Stephan Walkingstick, Stan Ledford, Kurt Stewart, Peepers George, James Plummer, Ervin Crowe, and Rooster Crowe.
