CONGRATULATIONS TO MISS AND LITTLE MISS CHEROKEE
The Boys Club extends its congratulations to Taylor Wilnoty, who was named 2014 Miss Cherokee at the pageant held on Saturday at the Chief Joyce Dugan Cultural Arts Center. Taylor is the daughter of Michael and Savannah Wilnoty of the Painttown Community. The Boys Club is proud to have sponsored Miss Wilnoty in this event.
Congratulations also to Jenna Grace Cruz, granddaughter of Albert and Karla Arch, who won the 2014 Little Miss Cherokee Competition. Albert is the Acting Bus and Truck Department Manager for the Boys Club.
We appreciate and thank all of the contestants and those who helped make the pageants possible. Thank you to 2013 Miss Cherokee, Madison Crowe, for her outstanding service to our Tribe and our community during her reign as Miss Cherokee.

CONGRATULATIONS BRAVES FOOTBALL TEAMS
Congratulations to the JV Braves Football Team on their awesome season and for finishing in second place in the Smoky Mountain Conference regular season standings.
Congratulations also to Kennan Panther of the Varsity Braves Football Team for being named by NCPreps as the leading tackler in the entire State of North Carolina with 105 tackles. Other Braves leaders include Brandon Buchanan – Rushing with 97 carries for 365 yards and six touchdowns; Brandon Buchanan – Passing with 85 of 136 passes complete for 1,038 yards and 11 touchdown passes; and Dustin Johnson – Receiving with 20 catches for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Breast Cancer is the second most common type of cancer in women. We all know someone, whether it be a friend, family member, co-worker, someone in the community, or even our self who has fought this disease. The good news is that with regular checkups, self-examination and the use of mammograms, early detection provides a greater opportunity to win the battle!
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Make a difference! Spread the word about mammograms and encourage your community, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved.
