BUS DRIVER TRAINING

Low-Income Fuel Assistance Deadline
The deadline for low-income heating fuel assistance applications is Monday, October 31. No applications will be taken after this date. Qualified applicants should go to the Family Support Services office on Goose Creek Road in Birdtown to complete your application as soon as possible or call for more information at 497-6092.
FOSTER PARENTS NEEDED
Family Support Services is also looking for Foster Parents who can provide a warm, secure and stable environment for children who need a home. If you are interested in becoming a Foster Parent, please contact Barbara Jones at 497-6092. You can make a difference in a child’s life.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (also referred to as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of this disease and to raise money for research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. This campaign also serves as a reminder for women to be diligent in maintaining their own health awareness and to be mindful of early detection through annual mammograms and self-examination.
Someone you know has been affected by this disease – mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, niece, friend or neighbor. Please show your support during the month of October by participating in one of the events held to raise awareness and raise funds or by wearing PINK – the color that has become synonymous with breast cancer survivors and awareness. You may have noticed that the NFL is supporting this cause by the addition of the color pink to the shoes, uniforms, towels and other accessories worn by the players, coaches, referees and staff. Please do your part to support loved ones who are survivors or who are being treated for breast cancer.
