ONE FEATHER STAFF REPORT
WINSTON-SALEM – Two Cherokee Middle School wrestlers placed at the North Carolina 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade State Wrestling Championships held in Winston-Salem on Feb. 12. Taylor Davis, 8th grade, took 3rd place in the 173lb. division and Raymond Taylor, 9th grade, took 3rd place in the 215lb. division.
Davis had a 4-1 record on the day. He pinned A. Teliez (N/A) to start the day and followed that up with a pin of T. Chandler (Predators). His lone loss came by decision to A. Thomas (North Davey) followed by a decision win over Q. Moody (Ardnt) and a pin of T. Chandler again.
Taylor was pinned twice and ended up 0-2 on the day, but still took 3rd place overall.
