During a bipartisan Senate Committee on Indian Affairs roundtable titled, “Tracking Prediction Markets’ Exponential Growth: Tribal Implications and Beyond”, tribal leaders urged Congress to prevent online prediction markets from becoming something “that threatens tribal sovereignty, gaming revenues, and the regulatory framework established under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).”

A federal appeals court has “agreed with a Western District of Wisconsin opinion that the pipeline, Line 5 operated by Enbridge Energy, was trespassing on 12 miles of land within the boundaries of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, an Anishinaabe tribe in northern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior.”
