Henry M. Dover, 77, of Cherokee, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of the late David Miller and Lula Bell Murphy Dover. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Lillian Dement, Dolly (Hazel) Kirkland; and, one brother, William Jesse Lee Dover.
Henry was a US Army Veteran serving in the 25th Infantry. He spent two tours in Vietnam. He was a very dedicated husband, father, papaw, and brother to all of his loving family. He was a man of great faith.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susie Dover; children, Rachel Dover (Zombie), Wayne Dover, and Katie Dover; special ones that he held close to his heart and always included them as one of his own, Lena Dover, Justin Manning, Donna Hardison (John) and their daughters, Kayla Hardison, and Felicia Hardison, Daniel Myers and Jerry Woolverton; his beloved fur babies, Dori, Udsti, Sebastian, and McKenzie; grandchildren, Evie Manning, Joe Owle, Cody Owle, Danny Lambert, Drew Lambert, Samantha Dover, and Alyssa Dover; great grandchildren, Zoey Manning, Jace Manning, Morgan Lambert, Annalise Lambert, Colten Lambert, Raelynn Bryson, Annistyn Owle, Walker Owle and Grayson Graves; sisters, Shirley Page (Richard), and Betty Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10 at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
