March 1
1:30 to 3 p.m. – W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah hosts a prenatal nutrition class on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Classes include a gift for the baby, refreshments, basic prenatal nutrition information, weight management during and after pregnancy information and more. 11 a.m. – The Cherokee Nation hosts the tribe’s annual Public School Appreciation Day at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. The Cherokee Nation annually gives schools in northeast Oklahoma funding from motor vehicle tag sales. In 2016, the tribe presented $4.7 million to schools.

The Cherokee Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians are partnering to share the Cherokee story as part of Cherokee Days at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. The three-day festival includes storytelling, an exhibit showcasing a historical timeline and live cultural art demonstrations and performances.
