Peanut Edwin French, 64, of the Big Cove community went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 19, 2016. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary Swayney French. He was a member of the Sequoyah Sovereign Grace Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon French; one son, Reign French (Kris) of Cherokee; daughter, Cheryl Davis of Cherokee; special granddaughter, Latika French of Cherokee; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Karen Browning (Johnny), Lawanda Myers, Mike French (Sissy), Walt French (Brenda), and Richard French (Angie).
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, March 22 at the Big Cove Recreation Center. Rev. Tim James will officiate with burial in the French Family Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post # 143.
The family will receive friends starting at 6pm on Monday, March 21 at the Big Cove Recreation Center.
Pallbearers will be members of Tribal Construction and the Cherokee D.O.T.
