CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University has announced its dean’s list and a new designation of high academic achievement at the university, the chancellor’s list, for fall semester 2014.
A total of 2,163 students at WCU have been named to the dean’s list for fall semester, and 1,058 of those students also were named to the chancellor’s list, according to Alison Morrison-Shetlar, WCU provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve at least a 3.5 GPA out of a possible 4.0 on a regular semester’s work of not less than 12 hours, excluding remedial courses, with no grade of D or F. Students named to the chancellor’s list met those specifications while also achieving a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
The following students from Cherokee were named to the chancellor’s list: Region S. Ball, Elle H. Bradley, Victoria N. Efird, Sara-Marie Ferguson, Gajjan Jasani, Heather A. Saunooke, Terrance Taylor and Paige A. Tester.
The following students from Cherokee were named to the dean’s list: Jessica R. Lambert, Billie J. Rich and Taran J. Swimmer.
