A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 11am – 2pm at the Yellowhill Community Club Building for a review and discussion of initial results from the first phase of the EBCI Land Needs Assessment.  Many ideas have been put on the table for improving the effectiveness of existing land protection and management programs as well as for potential new projects such as at the Cowee Mound-Hall Mountain Community Forest and Cowee School.

Perspectives will also be offered about the desirability of having additional space, beyond existing Cherokee ownership, for farms, cultural and historic sites, healthy lifestyles, business sites, and new partnerships with surrounding communities, such as the proposed Cowee-Nikwasi Cultural Corridor.

This project is sponsored by the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee and underwritten by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation.

Lunch will be provided, so please RSVP with Jane Kneller, WCU Cherokee Center, 497-7920.
