The Cherokee Braves (3-8) travel to Mooresville this Friday, Nov. 14 to take on the Pine Lake Prep Pride (6-4) in the first round of the 1A state football playoffs.
Pine Lake went 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Piedmont Conference. They are most definitely a running team led by senior Austin Cook who carried the ball 185 times for 1,573 yards. He averages 157.3 per game and 8.5 per carry on the regular season.
Harrison Hart, junior quarterback, completed 13 of 69 passes for 222 yards, 3 TDs and 4 INTs.
Will Harwood, sophomore outside linebacker, has anchored the Pride defense with 87 total tackles and 5 sacks. John Antonic, sophomore defensive tackle, leads the team with 7 sacks.
