Jayda Elizabeth Dugan Toineeta, 12, of Cherokee went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2014 at Mission Hospital following a 12-year battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Jayda is the daughter of Joel Toineeta and Jennifer Toineeta. Jayda is preceded in death paternal grandfather Danny Toineeta and maternal grandmother Jackie Dugan Queen. Jayda is survived by her brothers, Jayce Toineeta and Evan Standingdeer; paternal grandmother, Pam Cucumber; Uncles, Nehi Toineeta and wife Reva, Michael Toineeta of Woodland MS, Darrell Toineeta and Jesse Queen; Aunt Jill Sain and husband Jay; special friend Owen Taylor and her pet dogs, Mary and Molly. Jayda also leaves behind many friends and loved ones, who prayed for her, including, Rocksprings Baptist Church, Mission Hospital staff, the Cucumber family, Dugan family and the Toineeta family. A visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23 at Rocksprings Baptist Church. She remained at the church until hour of service on Thursday. Burial followed at the Joe Cucumber Family Cemetery. Pastor James “Bo” Parris and Pastor Greg Morgan officiated. Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
