Cherokee Indian Police Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:36am on Friday, March 21 to the area of Wilbur Sequoyah Road in the Big Cove Community in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who had sustained injuries from an apparent physical altercation. Both individuals were airlifted to an area medical center.
Officers have secured the scene and the incident is under investigation.
