The Lady Braves won 28 games this season and came within one game of playing for the state championship. Now, several of their players and their coach have earned postseason honors for their season in which the team won the Smoky Mountain Conference regular season title and tournament, their third straight Sectional Championship and were runner-up in the Region.

Avery Mintz, a junior, was named All-Conference, All-District, Smoky Mountain Conference Player of the Year, and District Player of the Year.
“Being able to win all of these awards is really exciting,” she said. “It’s an honor, and I’m really proud of my team and all that we’ve accomplished this year and I can’t wait for next year.”
Alexis Maney, a senior, was named All-Conference and was selected to play in the Blue-White All-Star game.
“I think we really improved this year,” she commented. “We did way better than a lot of people thought we were going to do and we definitely played our game. I think we did great, and it was a real honor getting All-Conference this year.”
Kendall Toineeta, a sophomore, was named All-Conference and second team All-District. “I think it’s more of a team honor seeing as how our team did so well. It’s just a great honor being recognized as one of the better players on the team.”
Coach Chris Mintz was named Smoky Mountain Conference Coach of the Year and was selected as a coach for the Blue-White All-Star game. “It was a really special year to get that far. Anytime you win 28 games, you’ve had a great year. I feel like we accomplished a lot of our goals. We didn’t accomplish all of them. They did really well.”
Jordyn Thompson, a senior, was also selected for the Blue-White All-Star game.
