BRYSON CITY – Tyler Shane Bowman, 19, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly, Saturday, March 9, 2013. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Kevin Jackson Bowman of Bryson City and Denise Myers Walkingstick of Cherokee. A Swain County High School Graduate in 2012, he was attending High Point University. He loved to run track and cross country, and hang out with his brother, Bo.
He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Carl Myers, Sr. and Raymond Howard.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Keyonah Lambert of Smyrna, Ga.; step father, Chris Walkingstick of Cherokee; two brothers, Brodie Bowman of Bryson City, Trey Bowman of Bryson City; maternal grandparents, Jim and Judy Blevins of Bryson City, and Carl and Mary Myers of Maryville, Tenn.; paternal grandparents, Jack Bowman of Robbinsville and Barbara Bowman of Whittier; paternal great grandmother, Lois Myers of Bryson City; maternal great grandmother, Jessie Howard of Bryson City; one uncle, David Myers of Maryville, Tenn.; and lots of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at The Grove Church. Rev. Eddie Deitz and Jeff Helpman will officiate with burial in Holly Springs Cemetery # 2.
The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 min. prior to the service.
