Home court advantage didn’t exist for Andrews when Cherokee came to town on Friday, Feb. 1. The Lady Braves (17-2) continued its tear through the Smokey Mountain Conference this year with a 93-32 win. The Braves (10-7) also had a big night with a 65-42 win.
Kendall Toineeta led Cherokee with 19pts following by Jordyn Thompson with 17. This game was never close as the Lady Braves jumped out to a 28-13 lead after the first period and led 60-20 at halftime. Cherokee held Andrews to just 12 points in the second half to take the win by an incredible 61pts.
Other Lady Braves scorers included: Bree Stamper 6, Le Le Lossiah 3, Kaycee Lossiah 2, Sabrina Wooten 4, Alexis Maney 14, Miranda Smith 6, Brianna Jumper 9 and Avery Mintz 13.
Staci Self led Andrews with 12 pts. Other Lady Wildcats scorers included: Rachel Moore 9, Jacqueline West 5, Haley West 4 and Courtney Heaton 2.
The Braves were led by Seth Littlejohn who poured in 26pts. This game was relatively close in the first half with Cherokee leading 13-10 after the first period and 30-27 at the half.
But, the second half was a different story as Cherokee outscored Andrews 14-9 in the third period and 21-6 in the fourth to take the 23 pt win.
Other Braves scorers included: Dustin Johnson 17, Derrick Ledford 8, Chris Queen 3, Stephen Swan 1, Darius Thompson 6 and Eli Littlejohn 4.
Seth Pyle and Chase Hardin led Andrews with 14pts each. Other Wildcats scorers included: Josh Oquendo 2, Zack Long 2 and Aaron Devore 10.
