BRYSON CITY– Mildred Sequoyah (Moose) Messer Jenkins, 53, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at her home. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Biological Father Quincey Watty and the late Beauford and Effie Haynes Messer. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy.
She is survived by two daughters; Jacqueline (Jackie) Jenkins Keever and husband David of Fieldale, VA, and Stacy Jenkins Edwards and husband Russell of Bryson City; four granddaughters, Chloee, Ali, Hayley, and Audree; eight sisters, Linda Fowler of Bryson City, Sue Warren of Bryson City, Caron Swayney, Ruth Marie McCoy, Annie Cucumber, Lady Bird Powell, Vangie Watty, and Lizzy Watty all of Cherokee; two brothers Bruce Messer of Bryson City, and Henry Queen Littlejohn, Jr. of Cherokee, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 3pm Monday in The Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Ray Fox and James (Bo) Parris will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2-3pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
