Wilma Beck Lambert, 89, of Cherokee passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 in Tsali Care Center. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Sarah Sneed Beck. She and her husband Fred were house parents for Cherokee Boys Club Children’s Home. She also worked for the wardrobe department for “Unto These Hills.” Wilma was a gifted and talented seamstress and musician. She was a member of the Cherokee united Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Saretta Lambert; brothers, Paul Beck, John Quinton Beck, Samuel F. Beck; and one grandson, Scott Williamson.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Lambert; two children, William (Bill) Beck of Cherokee, Teresa Williamson and husband Ray of Whittier; five grandchildren, Sam Clements, Summer Crowe, Lora Branning, Jamie Williamson, Dwight Williamson; five great grandchildren; and one brother, James Timothy Beck of Cherokee.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. John Ferree, and Ray Kinsland will officiate with burial in the Lambert Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
