Lady Braves volleyball falls to Franklin, Swain

The Lady Braves varsity volleyball team (2-4) lost 3-0 to Franklin on Monday, Aug. 27.  The match scores were 25-11, 25-9, 25-12.

“There was outstanding net play by Callie Phillips, Avery Mintz and Taran Swimmer with finished with six, five and four kills respectively and combined with Miranda Smith for six blocks and numerous put-backs,” said Coach Kim Arkansas.

The next night they took on Swain and lost 3-0 with match scores of 27-25, 25-10, 25-15.

“Tuesday night’s match against Swain wrapped up a tough three-match stretch against some of the premier volleyball teams in our area,” said Arkansas.  “The Lady Braves are improving every day and we look forward to getting some more marks in the win column.”

The JV Lady Braves also dropped two games this week.  They lost to Franklin 2-0 and Swain 2-0.

Coach Arkansas related, “Our JV continue to play a high level of volleyball.  Our team made some incredible hustle plays during the match.”
