Sequoyah Remembrance Day. Aug. 5 at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tenn. The Museum will be celebrating Sequoyah’s contribution to the Cherokee people by creating a writing system, the Cherokee Syllabary, with free admission to the museum from 12-5pm. Allen Fugate will be demonstrating Silversmithing and EBCI tribal member Dawn Arneach will be answering questions and guidance on researching your Cherokee ancestry.
