The Boys Club extends its sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Helen Owle who passed away last week.  Many members of the Owle family are, have been and remain Boys Club family members; our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with them all.

CLUB ADMIN DEPARTMENT ATTENDS TRAINING

Several members of the Boys Club’s Administration Department attended an Image Now Software seminar in Miami, Florida this week.  The participants in this training are Vickie McCoy, Tiff Reed, Terry Bradley, Andrea Swayney and Kay Jones.  The implementation of this software program will streamline many accounting procedures and will also provide a mechanism for digital record keeping.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES’ OFFICE TO RELOCATE

The Family Support Services offices will be moving to the Boys Club campus and will be ready for business there on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.  The offices will be located at 134 Cherokee Boys Club Loop (the former General Manager’s residence) which is directly across from the Club’s Garage.  The current office on 508 Goose Creek Road will close at that time.

 

AUTISM SEMINAR TO BE HELD IN ROBBINSVILLE

Family Support Services has teamed up the North Carolina Autism Society to host a mini workshop on Thursday, April 19th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the New Hope Church Fellowship Hall in Robbinsville. The workshop’s title is “ASD-Strategies to Manage Challenging Behaviors at Home, School and the Community”.  Ms. Kathy Dolby from the Cherokee School System will be the workshop presenter.  Ms. Dolby is the Schools’ Autism Outreach Specialist.  If you would like additional information, please call the Family Support Services office at 497-6092.
