Cherokee Preservation Foundation has announced plans to use a new grant application, beginning with the Spring 2012 grant cycle. The Foundation staff will be explaining the new grant application process to current and prospective grantees at community meetings in the month of October.
This new, streamlined grant application process will save applicants time, while also helping both the Foundation and grantees track project results to know if the grants were successful after completion. The application will also help grantees gauge where they need to be spending the most time during the implementation of their grant projects in order to achieve their desired grant outcomes.
With this new approach, Cherokee Preservation Foundation is joining with other western North Carolina grantmakers to use a common grant application, which will make the grant seeking process simpler and more efficient for applicants who are submitting grant proposals to more than one regional funder.
To learn more about the new grant application, interested residents on the Qualla Boundary and throughout the seven-county region are invited to attend one of the following meetings:
* Oct. 11 from 2 – 3 p.m., United Community Bank at 732 Main Street, Andrews NC
* Oct. 14 from 10 – 11 a.m., Qualla Arts & Crafts at 645 Tsali Blvd., Cherokee, NC
* Oct. 17, from 2 – 3 p.m., Jackson County Public Library at 310 Keener Street, Sylva NC
