     KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Paul Thomas Brown, age 85, born in Knoxville on June 7, 1925, passed away June 1, 2011. He was a man full of faith, honor, and integrity, with a lifetime of service and love for his church, family and friends. Paul was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

     He was a WWII veteran of the US Army. He dedicated a lifelong career to The Cherokees, also known as Saddlecraft, Inc., in Cherokee, NC, starting as a sales rep for 18 states across the country, later becoming President. Paul was a devoted member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church where he was honored to serve as deacon and elder, and on numerous committees.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ethel Brown, and his wife, Gwendolyn Ferree Brown. His survivors include, daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Ledbetter, Paula and Quinton Fisher; grandsons, Paul Ledbetter, Rod Ledbetter, and Avery Fisher. The family is extremely grateful for the kindness, care, and loving support of the wonderful team at 3 Montvue (CPU) Parkwest Medical Center and Palliative Care Services, ET Personal Care Service, and NHC Place Assisted Living, Farragut.

     Following a private interment, there was  a memorial service Saturday, 4:00 PM, at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church with Dr. L. Holton Siegling, Jr., Dr. Michael V. Stanfield, and Rev, Mark D. Lampley officiating.  In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, 3700 Keowee Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919, or to the charity of your choice.
