Joshua M. Toineeta, 82 of Cherokee passed away on March 19, 2011 at his residence at 101 Josh Toineeta Road in the Cherokee Wolftown Community.
He was the son of the late Arneach Toineeta and Mattie Youngdeer Toineeta and was a member of the Cherokee Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mrs. Frances Q. Toineeta; three daughters Mrs. Donna T. Lossiah, Ms. Berdie Toineeta and Mrs. Rose T. Mills and one sister Ms. Lillian T. Jumper all of Cherokee, NC. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and Nephews.
Josh was also preceded in death by brothers Joe Toineeta, Jerry Toineeta, Nick Toineeta and Jeff Toineeta, and sisters Geneva Ammons and Alice Littlejohn.
Josh will be placed at the Cherokee Church of God at 4pm on Monday, March 21, 2011. He will remain there until Tuesday, March 22, 2011 for a 2pm funeral service. Brother Charles Griffin and Brother Jim Frady will be officiating. The Pall Bearers will be members of the family.
Long House Funeral Home of Cherokee is assisting with the arrangements of the services.
