2011 Men’s Championship 1A-West Full Bracket
The Murphy Bulldogs (20-5) are the lone team from the Smoky Mountain Conference in the Sectional Round of the 2011 NCHSAA 1-A West men’s basketball tournament. The Bulldogs defeated Nantahala 102-67 in the first round and edged Mitchell 70-61 in the District Round. They are set to face off against Highland Tech (17-8) on Friday, Feb. 25.
Cherokee (12-10) ended their season with a first round loss to Highland Tech 72-38. Swain (9-13) and Hayesville (18-8), the only other Smoky Mountain Conference teams in the state tournament, lost in the District Round. Swain fell to Hendersonville 81-49 and Hayesville lost to Cherryville 85-64.
