Tribal Council approved the FY2011 budget for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on Wednesday, Oct. 13 and Cherokee Bottled Water was not approved for funding for the upcoming year.
“Kim Peone, EBCI Deputy of Finance, is exploring options that will allow uninterrupted and continued service to the CBW customer,” said Mary Jane Ferguson, director of EBCI Travel and Promotions.
Council granted Peone 90 days to develop a plan for the future of the Bottled Water operation. Principal Chief Michell hicks related to Council on that several private investors have expressed interested in the business.
