Charles Lee Whitetree, 84, of Cherokee died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Cherokee Indian Hospital after a long illness.
Born Friday, September 11, 1925 in Flint, Michigan, he was the husband of Nncy Brinble Whitetree.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons Charles Ray Whitetree of Cherokee, Kerry John Whitetree and wife Dawn of Sharpsburg, GA., daugthers Linda Nowosielski of Clio, MI., Mrilyn Ann Blythe of Cherokee, Gale and husband Joe Aidif of Flint, MI., Wanda and husband Charles Burce of Port St Lucie, FL., and sister Darlene Whitetree and husband Bob Connors of Cherokee. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Alva Whitetree, mother Floy Burgess Whitetree, sons Del, Joey and Perry Whietree; brothers Johnny and Alve Whitetree Jr., and sister Winona Digh.
The family received friends on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 5pm – 7pm at the chapel of Long House Funeral Home in Cherokee, during which a brief service will be conducted by Jimmy Cooper. No other services are planned.
