WHITTIER – June Lloyd Bell, age 83, of Whittier, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Bell was born May 17, 1926 in Texas. She was

the daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle (Johnson) Lloyd, also of Whittier. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J. D. and Jack Lloyd. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and Knoxville Business College.
June was a successful business owner for 46 years, in partnership with M. G. Bell, her former husband. Her most important priority was her family, she was the loving and nurturing mother of five children, Gene Bell of Whittier, Carol Smith and husband Bill of Asheville, Deena Long and husband Jude of Whittier, David Bell and wife, Janice, of Whittier, Patricia Jordan and husband Jeff, of Sylva. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Jo Shinlever of Knoxville, Tn. She had 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A private memorial was held December 6 at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. Officiating pastors were Richard Peoples and Eddie Stillwell.
