The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) has conducted a major ad campaign to generate support to have a delegate seated in the House of Representatives. Several native leaders across the country and legislators are supporting this action, accepting at face value what Cherokee Nation has said.

There’s an unfortunate trend continuing in North Carolina and across the nation that must be stopped: the bad behavior of coaches, parents and fans at high school athletic events.
LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Disappointed in lack of Christmas lights
It’s disappointing that our town’s usual Christmas Lights displays aren’t even up yet. All you see is the lights on the (Oconaluftee) Island and on a few lightpoles here and there throughout town.
SPEAKING OF FAITH: Missing the Christ of Christmas
A familiar decoration at Christmas is the Nativity Scene. Some people adorn their homes with small statues or their yards with large, illumined figures of the Nativity. We know the characters all too well.

We here, at the One Feather, are used to hearing authorities tell us that they limit the release of information for the good of the community, or as parents used to tell children, “for your own good.”
