A friend, many years ago, lost a Yorkie that she had from a pup. She had left it at home while she worked and when she got home, the dog was gone.
COMMENTARY: Against legalization of adult-use marijuana on tribal lands
The recent notification that tribal leadership is considering the legalization of recreational (adult) use of marijuana on tribal lands via a referendum vote is extremely troubling. Personally, I never thought in my generation I would see this as an actual possibility amongst my own people, but here we are.
COMMENTARY: Speak out against stigma
Have you ever wondered why a reluctance to seek help or treatment exists? Could it be that due to a lack of understanding by family, friends, co-workers, or community members?
COMMENTARY: Give the Ceremonial Grounds back to the community
I think we need to fast-track the development and implementation of a construction plan for our Ceremonial Grounds and our government needs to come to terms as to what the community wants it to be, and the community’s answer may not be “we want it to generate dollars”. Because soon, we won’t be able to see the fairgrounds for the grass.

You should be able to recognize a platitude when you see it. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a platitude is “a remark or statement, especially one with a moral content, that has been used too often to be interesting or thoughtful”.
