Ethelyn “Sis” Roberts, a cherished member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at the age of 104. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Curtis Ray Ward, age 52, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

Clarence Steven Arch, 63, of the Big Cove Community, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024.

Roberta Ernestine (George) Long, better known as “Rosie”, went to her heavenly home after an extended illness on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

Glenda Dale Owle Welch, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Mission Hospital. Glenda was born June 9, 1948, to the late Lloyd and Stella Bradley Webb. Glenda enjoyed being around family, cooking, and crafts.

Raymond Kenneth Smith, age 69, of Tsali Manor, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024 at Mission Hospital.

Marie Taylor Swayney, 88, of Whittier, N.C., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024. 

Carly Dea Maples, 47, of the Birdtown Community, passed away peacefully with family by her side Monday, Nov. 18, 2024. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of Linda Maples of Cherokee, and George O. Burgess of Franklin, N.C.
