Delores Amelia Cucumber, age 52, of Cherokee, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, July 15, 2025, at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Leona Mae Bradley, 96, of Whittier, N.C., passed away peacefully on Wednesday. July 16, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Leona was known for her warmth, strength, her unwavering love for her family, friends, and her wonderful cooking and gardening ability. She loved watching her birds and looking at her flowers.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brittnee Mariah Arch, who left us on July 13, 2025, at the age of 31.

Charles Asa James, 53, passed away July 3, 2025. He was born July 24, 1971 in Andrews, N.C. He is the son of the late Kenneth Wayne James Sr. of Marble, N.C., and Stella Louise Carver James of Bryson City, N.C.

Yahnie Ann Littlejohn Squirrel, 78, of Cherokee, opened her eyes in Heaven on Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was a native of Cherokee born on Dec. 7, 1946 to Owen and Agnes Bigwitch Long Littlejohn.

Daphne Carol Blount, age 51 of Murphy, entered the glories of peace that passes all understanding and imagination at home on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with her loving family. Although she is no longer with us in her earthly body, her spirit lives on and she will forever be loved, remembered and cherished by her family and friends.

Sally J. Kent, 62, of the Painttown Community in Cherokee, N.C., passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Cherokee Indian Hospital in Cherokee, N.C.

Charles Ray Elders, 82, of Whittier, N.C., went to his heavenly home on Friday, June 20, 2025.
